Turning Social Media Followers Into Paying Customers
Social media is great for getting noticed, but you don't own your followers. Algorithms change, accounts get hacked, reach drops. Your website is the one place online you fully control, so the goal of social media should be to send people there.
Pick one or two platforms and do them well
- Instagram and TikTok: visual businesses like salons, barbers, tattoo artists, restaurants, landscapers and detailers.
- Facebook: local community reach, events, and older customers.
- Nextdoor: home services and neighborhood recommendations.
- LinkedIn: professional services like accountants, lawyers and consultants.
Post what people want to see
Before-and-afters, quick tips, behind-the-scenes, team introductions, happy customers (with permission) and short videos of the work in progress. Aim for helpful or interesting, not salesy.
Always give a next step
End posts with a reason to visit your website: "See the full gallery on our site," "Book your spot online, link in bio," or "Get a free quote at our website."
Make your bio link count
Link straight to your website, and make sure the page it lands on matches what people expect. If your post was about a seasonal special, the website should mention it too.
Share your website pages directly
When you add a new service, update your gallery or post a blog article, share the link. Use the share buttons on your pages to post to Facebook, X, LinkedIn or WhatsApp in a couple of taps.
Measure what matters
Followers and likes are nice, but track calls, form messages and bookings. Ask new customers "How did you hear about us?" and you'll quickly learn which platform is actually worth your time.
